On June 4, 2010, Sam Houston Elementary is closing its doors. Join us May 2 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. to commemorate the “End of an Era” celebrating Houston’s service to the Grand Prairie Community for 58 years. It’s a come and go affair for ex-staff, students, and parents as well as current employees and community members. Join us this Sunday in the Sam Houston Library.

Learn the mechanics of taking the SAT test!

SAT Test Prep Session Dates and Times:
July 12-15 and 19-22, 2010
(Session is 8 days total – Monday through Thursday each week)
8:00 am to 12:00 pm each day
Classes will be held at the GPISD Education Center

AND WILL BE RESERVED ON FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE BASIS

$25 Enrollment Fee is required at time of registration

May 1:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 2:  1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
May 3 through May 4:  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Garner Elementary School - 145 Polo Road (75052)

The District's Cinco de Mayo page has everything you need to know before you go to this year's celebration scheduled for Saturday, May 1, beginning with the parade at 10:00 a.m.

The District will hold Kindergarten Registration April 19 - 23 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (closed for lunch 12 - 1 p.m.) at each elementary school.

To attend kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before September 1.
 

Come join Dickinson Elementary School on Saturday, April 17, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for a community wide “e-cycling” event where you can recycle your old electronics!

Registration, Procedures, and Guidelines are now available for the June administration of the Credit by Exam.  The deadline for registration is Monday, May 3.

The District's HIPPY program (Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-school Youngsters) will hold its End-of-Year Celebration on Saturday, April 17, in Chambers Auditorium on the campus of Grand Prairie High School.  The first session is from 10:00 a.m. until noon.  The second session is from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
