Students entering 6th, 7th, 8th and high school are invited to Freestyle My Future Showcase Nights at the school they will attend next year to learn more about the 2010-2011 school year.

High School Showcase Night (for students entering high school next year)

7th Grade Showcase Night (for this year's 6th graders)

Grand Prairie Independent School District is offering Parent Training Seminars to provide information, support, and resources to families with special needs children. Seminars will include information on various topics, including futures planning, sensory regulation (including feeding and toileting), language and communication, and community resources.

January 28, 2010 - Welcome Session
February 25, 2010 - Life Planning for Children with Special Needs: The ABCs of Life Planning
March 25, 2010 - Working it All in: Living with Children with Special Needs
April 22, 2010 - Enhancing Communication from A to Z

Spring SAT Test Prep classes are scheduled for March 8-12, 2010 (TAKS Flex Days) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day. These classes will be held at the GPISD Education Center

Enrollment is limited to 30 participants and space will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

A $25 enrollment fee is required at time of registration. Make check or money order payable to Grand Prairie ISD.

Those interested should bring a completed registration form and enrollment fee to:

At its January meeting, the GPISD Board of Trustees approved the 2010-2011 Academic Calendar.

Notice is hereby given that applications for a place on the GPISD Board of Trustees regular election ballot may be filed beginning February 6, 2010, and ending on March 8, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the GPISD Education Center located at 2602 S. Belt Line Road.

To register your groups to be in the parade, complete the Parade Entry form and fax to Mr. Sterlin McGruder at 972-343-4574 or deliver to Daniels Elementary Academy at 801 S. W. 19th Street, 75051.

There is no entry fee. The parade line-up starts at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot at David Daniels Academy located at 801 SW 19th Street. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. from 19th and W.E. Roberts and end at the Liberty Bell at City Hall on 317 W. College St. Bring your floats, decorated vehicles, and performers and check in with Mrs. Gordon at 9:00 AM.
