General Education Homebound Services (GEH)
General Education Homebound (GEH) services provide the srevices of a certified teacher to those students whose medical needs (physical or psychiatric) prevent regular school attendance for an extended period of time, usually greater than four weeks. General Education Homebound Services (formerly known as Hospital-Homebound Services [HHRE]) are provided through the Education Support Department under the direction of the Executive Director of Innovation and Support Services.
Eligibility Guidelines:
Any student who is served through the General Education Homebound (GEH) program must meet the following criteria:
- The student must currently be enrolled in GPISD
- The student is expected to be confined at home or hospital bedside for a minimum of 4 weeks. The weeks need not be consecutive.
- The student is confined at home or hospital bedside for medical reasons only.
- A physician licensed to practice in the United States documents the student's medical condition.
Students served through GEH must be served by a certified general education teacher.
