The purpose of the Safe and Drug Free Schools & Communities Program is to support public schools in the development and implementation of education programs for all students and employees to prevent drug use and violence.

Shattered Dreams
"Shattered Dreams" is a two-day, school-based program that promotes responsible decision-making among high school students regarding underage drinking and impaired driving (driving after drinking or riding with a drinking driver) by showing them how irresponsible choices can end all dreams.
Additional areas of SDFSC:
- Individual and group counseling of students
- Parent Workshops
- Red Ribbon Presentations -- prevention awareness for parents and the community
- DFYIT (Drug Free Youth in Texas) -- monthly meetings with SRO's, parents, counselors, and members to discuss ways of collaboration to combat ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs) issues
