How the GPISD Attendance Incentive Program Works

We are pleased to launch 2013-2014 Every Child, Every Seat, Every Day, an attendance incentive program intended to improve Average Daily Attendance (ADA). Every day a student is absent from class costs GPISD $28 in revenue from the state. If we raise the attendance rate by just 1 percent District-wide, it would result in $1 million per year in increased state revenue. That's money that goes directly into your child's education.

The contest will track the weekly ADA for each campus.

We will track the Average Daily Attendance (ADA) for each campus. Each week during the nine-week period, we will calculate week-to-date ADA average for each campus. At the end of nine weeks, the top three elementary and top three secondary campuses with the highest ADA average for that period will win the following:

(2) IPad Minis for each school to be awarded to students via a drawing

IPad Mini:

Each campus will conduct a student drawing for the IPad Minis. Students should be represented in the drawing with one entry for each week of perfect attendance during the 9 week period. For instance, a student not absent for the entire 9 week period would have 9 entries in the drawing.
