All schools in the GPISD are on a nutrient standard menu planning system called "NuMenus".  NuMenus uses software specifically designed to comply with all program requirements to insure that our meals meet certain nutrient levels of calories, fat, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A, and vitamin C.  Nutritional analysis of all meals may be provided upon request.
We serve approximately 15,000 lunches and 3,400 breakfasts daily throughout the district from our thiry-four campuses.  Fifty-One percent of our students participate in the free/reduced lunch program.   Our staff consists of 229 employees, including office staff and management.
Elementary lunches are $1.75, secondary lunches are $1.85 and adult lunches are $2.25.  Breakfast prices are $1.00 for students and $1.15 for adults.  At all elementary schools we offer three entrées with choices between four side dishes.  For students interested in a vegetarian meal or lighter fare a chef salad is also available.

The secondary schools offer a featured special hot meal of the day, or a choice of a chicken tender salad accompanied by choices among five side dishes.  Grand Combo Meals are also offered in secondary schools that include an entrée, fruit and milk.  All meal program participants are allowed to choose meals in the daily special line or the combo line.

Thursdays are designated as a "special" day for teachers/adults in our elementary schools.  This teacher menu might include Fiesta Salad with chocolate cake, or soup, cornbread and cobbler.
Our catering department provides refreshments and meals at a reasonable price for meetings and school related functions.  We operate a self supporting program that does not use local tax dollars, but rather is sustained by federal dollars and our cash paying customers.
