| Testing | All 8th grade students in the Grand Prairie Independent School District are comprehensively tested to help them to understand their career interests and aptitudes using the ACT Career Planning Survey. |
| Counseling | 8th grade students receive counseling to help them to develop a four year high school plan that will prepare them for higher education or for a career. |
