The Parent Involvement Program services all 19 Title I Elementary Schools and two Title I Middle Schools in the Grand Prairie ISD. The program is housed at the Parent Involvement Center (PIC) at Travis Elementary and is staffed by a Parent Involvement Facilitator and two Community Liaisons. |

The role of the center is to provide technical assistance to schools that are looking to implement innovative ideas on increasing parent involvement. One of the program's main goals is to strengthen the relationship between school staff, parents, students and the local community.Some of the activities the program either facilitates or coordinates are parenting classes, pre-GED help, Adult ESL classes, English Literacy Civics classes, computer classes, Family Nights, PTA presentations, and staff developments. |

The GPISD offers parents, administrators and the community
English to Spanish and vice versa translator and interpreter
services for all district related events. The Translators
primary job function is to translate all documents of district
nature that will be distributed to parents of GPISD students.
Also, English to Spanish interpreting services are available
for any and all GPISD sponsored events such as workshops,
parenting sessions, parent-teacher conferences, school conferences,
and any other event. In addition to the services being provided,
the district is expanding to provide Vietnamese and Arabic
translator services. |
