What Leaf Are You?

Objective:

Students will be asked to gather three different leaves from the tree specimens available to them at the Natural Science Education Center.   After collecting their leaves, they are to make a leaf rubbing of each and then begin to identify the different attributes of each of the three leaves.
Try to have the students choose leaves from trees that are labeled or that can be already identified.

These attributes are:

Type
Edges
Base
Shape
Tip
Veins

Have the students identify each of the leaves by these given attributes and allow them to share their information with the rest of the class.   Have them practice knowing what these attributes are by exchanging leaves with another student.
