| Curriculum activity: | Tell a story through dictation or writing and pictures about a fun day you had with your family. Illustrate the story. Share your story by reading out loud to others in the class. | |
| Technology idea: | My Fun Day | |
| Students will use Kid Pix to illustrate a fun day with their family. Students will use the drawing and paint tools. Students will also use the text box tool to write about their fun day. | ||
| Curriculum activity: | Create a large Venn Diagram on the board or on chart paper. On the left side write the title of the first family book. On the right side, write the title of the second family book. Explain the Venn Diagram to the students. Tell them that we use a Venn Diagram to compare how two things are alike and different. |

| Curriculum activity: | By thinking about characters in movies and books they have read, students explore how a character in the story may be like someone in their own family. They compare and contrast a character with a family member by illustrating, writing a one sentence description, and writing the names of each using a capital letter for the proper noun. | |

| Students use Kid Pix to draw a picture of a family member and a character in a story. They will use the text tool to type a one sentence description and then type the name of each. | ||
