  Teacher Integration Spotlight
Mrs. Godby, third-grade teacher at Whitt Elmentary school has integrated language arts and technology focusing on student expectations to challenge her students to perform to their highest abilities.  Through student collaboration her students performed a reader's theatre and with the help of their teacher, a podcast was created.  By doing so students were able to share their performances of their "fractured fairy tails."  Additionally, special thanks to Scholastic for copy right permission to record the performances.

GPISD to Conduct RPTE 2-12 Online Testing

In a collaborative effort lead by GPISD's Department of Assessment and Program Evaluation, campus testing coordinators, and instructional technology facilitators all students who are required to take the RPTE state assessment will do so online.  The Department of Assessment and Program Evaluation and Instructional Technology are leading the way to further assist all students and district staff  with 21st century learning tools which are sure to increase performance.

  TPRI/Tejas Lee Palm Assessments
Palm

In the Fall of 2006 GPISD took a step forward as teachers began to assess students' reading abilities electronically. The result has been increased instructional time, easier evaluation of students' needs and earlier intervention. Now in its second year of implementation the initiative has begun to evolve through collaboration with the assistance of literacy strategists, teachers, administrators and technology to further improve the process so that it becomes seamless.
