Crosswinds High School provides a barrier-free learning environment where students will have the opportunity to be successful in attaining a high school diploma as defined by the Texas State Board of Education through innovative and technology-driven curricula.

Crosswinds High School was created to assist Grand Prairie students and residents to obtain a Texas high school diploma. Any current high school student (grades 9-12) or former student living in the Grand Prairie school attendance zone may apply for admission. Crosswinds High School is considered an "at risk" campus, as defined by the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) criteria. Individuals who apply and are accepted (Crosswinds High School is a Choice Campus) must follow the TEA requirements for a Texas high school diploma.

Currently, Crosswinds High School offers its students two (2) types of Texas high school diplomas: Recommended and Regular (sometimes referred to as Minimum High School program). Crosswinds High School will accept state credits earned from TEA accredited high school, Duel Credit courses earned from a TEA accepted college or university, and correspondence courses earned from the University of Texas @ Austin and/or Texas Tech University @ Lubbock.

Applicants may secure an application to Crosswinds High School at the main office at Crosswinds High School, in the counseling offices of Grand Prairie High School, Grand Prairie Ninth Grade Center, South Grand Prairie High School, South Grand Prairie Ninth Grade Center or Grand Prairie Independent School District Business Office located on Beltline Drive-Secondary Schools Department.
