Young Women's Leadership Academy  
Dress Code

To enhance a dynamic learning experience that encourages critical thinking, inspires confidence and nurtures the intellectual and social development necessary for success in college, career and life the following Dress Code applies to students of the Young Women's leadership Academy.
 
Standardized Dress on most days:
  • Appropriate fitting khaki or black pants or finger-tip length skirts or shorts
  • No jeggings or tight-fitting skinny jeans
  • Solid red, white, navy, light blue, or black collared shirts (no t-shirts)
  • Solid red, white, navy, light blue, gray, or black outerwear (such as sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets)
  • Lettering and logos on shirts and outerwear may total no more than the size of a quarter
  • Students are not required to wear a belt, but black or brown solid colored belts (no studs) are allowed
  • Solid black or white tennis shoes - solid black, white, or brown Sperry style shoes are also acceptable
  • Solid black or white socks
  • Solid black, white, or dark brown dress shoes
  • Appropriate hairstyles and jewelry
  • One color for nail polish

Spirit Days - YWLA spirit t-shirt (sold by PTA)

Free Dress Days will be earned by reaching leadership goals

Athletics/PE- Spirit t-shirt or white t-shirt, black shorts, tennis shoes

Dance - Dancewear

Leadership Outings for the Leadership Elective class will be professional dress or school standardized dress. This will be discussed as part of the Leadership class.
