My name is Emily Curry. I was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. I grew up in SGP and attended a small private school through elementary and junior high school. I graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 2000. Go Warriors! After earning my basics at TCC, I attended the University of Texas at Arlington where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2005. I have taught for 7 years and all have been at Whitt. I have taught both 3rd and 2nd grade and love them. 

My goals as an educator are to provide students with a loving environment where it is safe to learn and take chances. I want all students to leave with a high self esteem and to feel accomplished. I like to provide hands on learning experiences with real world applications.

I have always known I wanted to be a teacher and a mother and I am lucky enough to be both. I have two young children. My son Peyton is 4 years old and loves dinosaurs, knights, and swimming. Piper, my daughter, is 2 and loves to swim, sing, and eat. My hobbies include doing things outdoors and playing with my kids! I enjoy swimming, listening to music, and cooking. I love coffee, chocolate, and diet coke!
