Money Tip of the Month

PAY YOURSELF FIRST:

Financial advisors agree that one of the most effective strategies for reaching your financial goals is: Pay Yourself First.

So, before you pay your bills every month, put money into a savings account, a retirement account, or whatever. Commit to an amount of money that you earmark for savings each month, without fail. If you run out of money before your other bills are paid, find a creative way to make up the shortfall - such as cutting back on cable, or cancelling magazine subscriptions - but don't touch the money you've put aside. Keep your financial commitment to yourself, and you'll find that you've started down the road to financial empowerment. Share these tips with your children and give them a great head start!
