We aim to:
Create programs and supports to assist students with removing social, emotional, and economic barriers that are impeding student achievement
Empower every student to design a comprehensive plan for their future by providing college, career, and military readiness exposure and advisement for grades K through 12
Teach students essential life skills through social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons, kindness initiatives, and self-accountability campaigns so students will be able to utilize these skills and lead by example in every facet of their lives
Counseling Services is comprised of dedicated school counselors, school social workers, and college access center staff who are ready to serve the students, staff, and families in GPISD.

The National Postsecondary Strategy Institute and Reach Higher have named the GPISD Counseling and College Readiness Departments as the recipients of the Power of Hope Award. The award recognizes school districts that engage school counselors in leadership roles that effectively organize and implement college and career postsecondary enrollment strategies in grades K-12. Thank you to all our counselors, college advisors and social workers for the work they do to empower our students to make their postsecondary choices.
GPISD is proud to be one of six schools in the US to be awarded this distinction.
