Counseling Services Overview

  • Maples Rayburn's Counselor Corner

    Hello Rayburn Roadrunners!

My name is Mrs. Maples and I’m excited to be your school counselor! I wanted to share a little about myself. I was raised in GPISD where I went to Florence Hill Elementary, Truman MS, and then South Grand Prairie HS. I attended the University of North Texas for my teaching degree. I taught 1st grade for 6 years. I then returned to UNT for my counseling degree and am now in my 9th year as a counselor. I recently obtained my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) as well.

I love being a counselor and working with you and your family! Please feel free to contact me!

    Vision Statement

The school counselor vision for all Rayburn students are for them to be kind, considerate, and confident citizens of the world. They will receive the seeds needed to plant a solid foundation to build their lives on.  I encourage others to breathe, be mindful and choose LOVE for others and themselves.

"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." -Aristotle

    Rayburn School Counseling Program Mission

The Rayburn School Counseling Program Mission is to work with the campus to provide our students with academic, college/career/STEAM and emotional/social support. As the school counselor, I incorporate humor and unconditional positive regard with everyone I meet so that we can work as a TEAM to help our students become the best they can be.
