National Junior Honor Society
NJHS at GPFAA is by invite only. 7th-grade students who have met the academic requirements of 85% Grade Point Average will be invited to apply for NJHS. Once the application has been received a panel of GPFFAA teachers review the application looking at not only academics but the qualities of Leadership, citizenship, character, and service. The invitation and application process begins each year after Spring Break for the following school year.
Being selected to join the National Junior Honor Society is a privilege that the GPFAA Faculty Council takes very seriously. The NJHS is not an honor society based solely on grade point average but consists of the brightest and most well-rounded students. Criteria for invitation include a minimum overall exact GPA of 85 and maintaining positive behavior. Students will become official members at an induction ceremony. In order to be considered for full membership, you have to meet the following requirements by the end of the third quarter:
- Leadership - being positive and show leadership qualities.
- Citizenship - take part in various clubs and activities.
- Character - good behavior.
- Service - As part of your membership you will be required to participate in an NJHS service project and service hours by the end of quarter 4
The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students of secondary schools.
