    Linda Ellis has served as the Superintendent of Schools in Grand Prairie ISD since May 2020. Prior to being named to that position she served as Interim Superintendent.

    Prior to taking on the role of Superintendent, Ms. Ellis served as the District’s Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, overseeing all academic programs and services for elementary and secondary schools. Areas under her direct supervision included core curriculum implementation, dyslexia services, special education, bilingual and ESL programs, response to intervention, Section 504, STEM education, and advanced academics.

    Ms. Ellis first joined Grand Prairie ISD as a classroom teacher, and subsequently served in a variety of positions in the District, including GT facilitator for grades K-12, administrative intern, assistant principal at both the elementary and secondary level, principal, curriculum director, and executive director.

    Ms. Ellis obtained her undergraduate degree from East Texas State University, and she holds a Master of Education degree from Texas A&M Commerce. She completed all coursework for the Texas Superintendent Certification at the University of Texas at Arlington.
