District Educational Improvement Committee
-
The GPISD Educational Improvement Council (EIC) is a diverse committee comprised of teachers, parents, business members, and community representatives with a key advisory role in shaping the district's educational direction. Its primary responsibilities include establishing and reviewing educational goals, programs, and objectives, providing valuable advice to the School Board or its representatives. Throughout the year, the EIC convenes to discuss the District Improvement Plan (DIP), guiding the district towards enhanced student performance and well-being.
Membership
The GPISD EIC is composed of one teacher representative from every campus, along with parents, community members, business associates, and administrators. Each campus appoints a member who will serve a two-year tenure. We also extend an invitation to parents, community members, and business professionals to consider joining the committee when vacancies arise.
The committee meets at least three times annually, with additional meetings called as necessary. A chairperson is designated during the first meeting to present the EIC's recommendations to the school board and provide support as needed.
