Lenora Brown
Lenora Brown is the Chancellor of the Grand Prairie Early College High school. She has over 30 years of educational experience and has been with the Grand Prairie Early College High School since it started in 2015. She came to GPISD in 2015 as the counselor of GP ECHS.
Mrs. Brown taught 7th-grade reading, was a middle school counselor and was a high school counselor for 15 years before becoming Chancellor of GP ECHS. Those that know Mrs. Brown know her for her shining evaluations, teaching awards, and commitment to excellence. In the Spring of 2015, she received the CREST AWARD (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) that is sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association. Mrs. Brown is a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor and works in a mental hospital on weekends.
Born in Oklahoma, Mrs. Brown has spent most of her life in Dallas where her immediate family resides. She has been married to her husband for over 25 years and has two daughters. Mrs. Brown enjoys reading, shopping, making quilts, and crocheting. She is an active member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.

Phillip Burks
Phillip Burks is a very dynamic and persistent leader and educator with more than a decade of educator experience; as a career educator and learner he’s focused on the implementation of instructional integrity and its effect on student growth and success.
Mr. Burks has served in many different capacities within GPISD from a self-contained Special Education Teacher, Inclusion Teacher, General Education Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher, Testing Coordinator, School Counselor, and now Academic Dean. Outside of K-12 education, Mr. Burks teaches as an adjunct professor in the areas of Health Professions (Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Humanities. He currently serves as Professor of Humanities at Northwood University. Mr. Burks believes that being an effective educator and leader is a calling.
