April Wyatt, Principal

Mrs. Wyatt grew up in Dallas and attended school in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Lincoln Communications Magnet High School. She received her undergraduate degree from Huston-Tillotson College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She earned her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A & M Commerce in 2007.

Mrs. Wyatt’s journey in administration has all taken place in GPISD. She served as the assistant principal at Crockett Elementary and then her journey took her to Whitt Fine Arts Academy in the Fall of 2009. She is now serving as the principal at David Daniels Academy and has been there since the fall of 2023. 

She views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Daniels Academy of Science and Math to ensure each student reaches his/her academic potential. 

During her free time, Mrs. Wyatt enjoys reading, attending concerts and sporting events, and spending time with family.
