Mrs. Sandy Dávila-Tijerina

My name is Sandy Dávila-Tijerina and I am excited to be the Assistant Principal at Johnson DAEP.  I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Spanish, with a Minor in Mexican American Studies from the University of Houston. I have been in education for 21 years, 17 of those years within Grand Prairie ISD. I started my career with GPISD in 2003 as a Spanish/ESL teacher.  During this time, I received my degree in Master of Arts in Teaching a Second Language from Bennington College.  Shortly after, I obtained my Principal Certification from University of Texas in Arlington and have been an Assistant Principal since 2006 in various schools in GPISD

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my 2 children and my husband.  I also enjoy reading books and going to the movies.

I am honored to serve our students, parents, teachers, and staff at Johnson DAEP.
