Credit By Exam - CBE information

• Student must be an enrolled GPISD student
• Students may not attempt CBE for a grade or course that they are currently enrolled in (must test during the window before school begins)
• Acceleration will only occur before the school year for grade-level advancement (registration is in April and testing is in May)
• Tests are available in English (except LOTE assessments)
• Grades received from the CBE will be entered on the student's transcript
• No more than 4 exams can be given per session (students are only allowed to take the same assessment no more than twice and only once per year)
• Student records will be evaluated 
• CBE exams are taken at the administration office and require a sitting fee deposit and/or fees to test 
• CBE testing window deadlines must be followed 
• Testing schedules will be provided after associated fees have been received by the deadline 
• Students cannot take the CBE if they are currently sitting in the course OR if the CBE is not taken before the GPISD scheduled year the course is generally offered
• Testing cannot be rescheduled

For Credit by Exam Acceleration:  The parent must make payment online before the registration window closes and get scheduled testing information.  Acceleration will only occur before the start of the school year (registration in April, testing in May) for grade-level advancement.  The exam will be canceled without payment before the registration window closes.  A sitting fee deposit of $35.00 per test is required and will be refunded after all tests are completed on the scheduled date/time.  The deposit must be paid online before registration closes.  Without a deposit, the test will not be ordered and canceled.

For Credit by Exam Recovery:  Parents must make payment online before the registration window closes and get scheduled testing information.  Without payment before the registration window closes, the exam will be canceled.  A $35.00 per test recovery fee is required and is non-refundable.  Tests must be taken on the scheduled date/time.  The deposit must be paid online before registration closes.  Without a deposit, the test will not be ordered and canceled.

Validation Information:

• Student must be an enrolled GPISD student
• Given on campus, up to two a day, one in the am and one in the pm - during the school day. 
• The tests are given online and/or in person. 
• The student will be monitored at all times, the test will be released in Edugence and the student will test in Edugence (will need their login info).

For Validation:  Student is enrolling from a homeschool, private school, charter school, or non-accredited school.  Validation is to verify credits.  Student(s) should be scheduled for validation within 3 days of enrollment.  Students will be assigned an assessment(s) to verify credit earned is accepted on the transcript.  Student will take the grade level/courses (both A/B) to verify credit to be accepted.  All records need to be uploaded and no payment is required.

Credit By Exam Dates

Window 1

• Registration window:  August 19-23, (must register with an administrator/counselor and be submitted no later than August 23, 4 pm).
• Students registered will receive an email and must pay online no later than August 27, 4 pm.  If no email is received, please email lisa.molinar@gpisd.org before the deadline.
• Testing dates will be assigned and will be between September 9-11, 2024.

Window 2

• Registration window:  October 15-17, (must register with an administrator/counselor and be submitted no later than October 17, 4 pm).
• Students registered will receive an email and must pay online no later than October 22, 4 pm.  If no email is received, please email lisa.molinar@gpisd.org before the deadline.
• Testing dates will be assigned and will be between November 18-20, 2024.

Window 3

• Registration window:  November 4-8, (must register with an administrator/counselor and be submitted no later than November 8, 4 pm).
• Students registered will receive an email and must pay online no later than November 12, 4 pm.  If no email is received, please email lisa.molinar@gpisd.org before the deadline.
• Testing dates will be assigned and will be between January 6-7, 2025.

Window 4

• Registration window:  April 1-4, (must register with an administrator/counselor and be submitted no later than April 4, 4 pm).
• Students registered will receive an email and must pay online no later than April 8, 4 pm.  If no email is received, please email lisa.molinar@gpisd.org before the deadline.
• Testing dates will be assigned and will be between May 19-20, 2025.

Kinder Acceleration

• Registration window:  April 1-4, (must register online no later than April 4, 4 pm).
• Students registered will receive an email and must pay online no later than April 8, 4 pm.  If no email is received, please email lisa.molinar@gpisd.org before the deadline.
• Testing dates will be assigned and will be between May 19-20, 2025.
