    Roger & Thelma Phillips Dickey Memorial Scholarship

    Established in 2003 by the Estate of Samuel Roger Dickey
    Amount: Varies
    Interviewer: GPISD Education Foundation Scholarship Committee


    Criteria:

    • Application required
    • Must be a senior graduating from South Grand Prairie High School, Grand Prairie High School, or Dubiski Career High School
    • GPISD graduating senior intending to attend a college/university or accredited trade/technical school
    • GPA of 2.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale
    • Demonstrated potential for advance education and seeking an academic degree
    • Have an economic need
    • Have involvement in extracurricular school activities
    • Volunteer Activities
    • Interviewed by the Education Foundation Scholarship Committee

    Grand Prairie ISD Education Foundation Scholarship

    Amount: $2,500 each (up to 3 recipients)
    Reviewer: GPISD Education Foundation Scholarship Committee will review completed applications and video submissions
    Deadline: March 20

    Criteria:

    • Grand Prairie ISD graduating senior intending to attend a college/university or an accredited trade/technical school.
    • Top 10% of your graduating class
    • Application required

    Grand Prairie Retired Coaches Association Scholarship

    Amount: Two - $500.00 scholarships 
    Interviewer: GP Retired Coaches Association committee  
    Deadline:  April 1 

    Thank you for your interest in the Grand Prairie Retired Coaches' Association Memorial Scholarship Fund. The goal of the Grand Prairie Retired Coaches' Association is to award a $500 scholarship to two applicants graduating from GPISD each year. The memorial scholarships are given to honor Coaches Eddie Patton, Ken Murray, Pete Thompson, Tom Walton, Ken Carter and Rod Fitzgerald.

    Criteria:

    • Must be a graduating Grand Prairie ISD senior student
    • Plan to attend an accredited college, university or technical, 2 year, or 4 year school. After a successful enrollment the scholarship check will be sent directly to the schools administration office.  No funds will be given directly to the scholarship recepient. 
    • The Memorial Scholarship is open to both male and female student athletes.  It is not open to anyone who has received any other type of athletic scholarship.
    • Must have been a student athlete, trainer or manager for three years
    • Must be a person of good character
    • Submit recommendations from: 1-administrator, 1-coach, 2-teachers, 1-outside source (family friend, minister, or police officer)
    • Submit an essay of 75-100 words stating why you want the scholarship

    • Students must be a participant in a GPISD UIL Sport
    • Candidates for the Memorial Scholarships must have been a high school student athlete, trainer or manager for three years, be a person of good character and have recommendations from an administrator, coach, two teachers and an outside source (family friend, minister, police officer, etc.).

    The scholarships are administered by the GPISD Education Foundation and are tax deductible. 100% of funds donated to the Grand Prairie Retired Coaches' Memorial Scholarship  Fund will be awarded to GPISD students athletes.

    Donations to the Grand Prairie Retired Coaches' Memorial Scholarship Fund may be sent to the GPISD Education Foundation, 2602 S. Belt Road, Grand Prairie, TX. 75052.  Please indicate on the check memo line “Retired Coaches' Scholarship Fund”. PLEASE make all checks payable to the GPISD Education Foundation.
