Counseling Information

  • Middle school and high school is an exciting time in an adolescent’s life and the counselors at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy are here to help students succeed in school and life, and gain greater understanding of themselves and others. We strive to help students learn and practice vital life skills that will help them make positive choices, overcome adversity, and learn how to build positive relationships.

The counseling office at the middle school level serves students in a variety of ways, including scheduling, testing, special programs, and assistance with personal concerns. The counseling office also has information available about community resources to address personal concerns.
We hope any student who needs extra assistance will come and visit a counselor. We look forward to working with you.

Each counselor is committed to helping students:

    1. Learn and practice skills that assist with healthy and responsible decision-making.
    2. Nurture the confidence and aspirations that are critical in preparing for college and career.
    3. Develop a resilience to overcome challenges in school and life.
    4. Maintain high expectations by providing adequate supports, building social capital, and conveying the conviction that all students can achieve
Counseling support services are offered to students in a variety of ways:
