Dear Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy community:

Thank you ahead of time for making me feel welcomed. It is a pleasure to meet students and parents who are excited about learning. I am looking forward to working with you!

It is with great enthusiasm that I join the Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy community. This is my 13th year serving in Grand Prairie ISD. After graduating from the University of North Texas in Denton with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice, I began my teaching career at Barbara Bush Elementary as a Dual Language Lead teacher. I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas in Dallas and served as an Instructional Coach at Garcia Elementary. From 2015 to July 2019, I joined Austin Environmental Science Academy as an Assistant Principal.

Beginning the 2019-2020 school year, I will be joining the wonderful administration team at Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy. I am committed to student improvement and academic excellence. We will continue to work together to ensure student success. Please do not hesitate to call for questions or concerns. Let me know what I can do for you!

I am excited and honored to continue my experiences in education at Ellen Ochoa STEM academy. After spending a decade in business sales and management, I began my career in education with Dallas ISD. My experience in education includes over a decade as a classroom teacher, multiple years mentoring fellow teachers, and capping my classroom experience as a campus instructional coach. During my years in the classroom, I updated district curriculum guides and wrote district semester exams. I facilitated professional development sessions at both campus and district levels. Moving into a central office position as a calibration facilitator, I trained administrators and classroom observers on how to effectively score teacher evaluations and conduct coaching conversations. I hope to put some of my other passions such as all things scientific, gardening, camping, and spending time with my children to use in extending thinking and opportunities for the students of Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy. Let’s get busy and have fun!
