- All Health Science students will work in the Smart Hospital, which allows the students an amazing hands-on experience that will grow their knowledge and clinical skills. During their junior year, students have the opportunity to attend Baylor Medical Center at Irving and rotate through many different units in the hospital. The focus shifts during the senior year as students begin either an internship at Baylor Medical Center, a specialized dentistry program, or one of two certification programs we offer.
- Students who choose to go to Baylor for Health Science Practicum II will spend their senior year as an intern on one unit at the hospital. Our interns work closely with the staff on their unit to aid in taking care of the patients and they gain many clinical skills during their internship.
- Students who choose the Pharmacy Technician program will complete the coursework needed to obtain two national certifications. All students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program will be eligible to sit for their IV certification and CPhT certification at the end of their senior year.
- Students who choose the EMT program will complete the coursework needed to obtain the EMT-B national certification. EMT students spend the first semester in the classroom and the second semester in the emergency room and on ambulances working alongside other EMT professionals.
