8th Grade ReadiStep

  • ReadiStep is an assessment of your progress in critical reading, writing, and math at the middle school level. Through the ReadiStep, you and your parents will learn which skills need improvement to be ready for high school and college and which areas show strengths that fit with higher-level courses. In addition, you will gain free access to MyRoad!.

    In December or January, once your scores are in:

    • Examine your results. YMLA will receive your student score report and send it home to you and your parents. Your report will show each question’s answer and difficulty level as well as how your scores compare to the scores of other students nationwide. Examine your results with the advanced academics specialist, a counselor, or teacher to gain a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses.
    • Make a plan for improving your skills. At the ReadiStep website, you can find the Skill Improvement Action Plan and ReadiStep Skills Insight to help you plan for improving your skills.
    • Explore college and career opportunities. Use your free access to MyRoad! It has a fun personality quiz and resources to help you plan for high school and explore opportunities for the future. 

    ReadiStep was written by the College Board. The College Board also writes the PSAT and SAT college entrance exams. For each subject area of the ReadiStep you will have a score from 1.0 – 7.0. This aligns with the PSAT subject score range of 20 – 80 and the SAT subject score range of 200 – 800.
