I am thrilled to be a teacher here at Lorenzo de Zavala Environmental Science Academy. Growing up surrounded by nature I found a passion for environmental science. It’s a privilege to watch that same passion grow in your children as they harvest vegetables that they grew themselves in our garden, collect eggs from our chicken coop, and observe the strange and wonderful insects that come to visit our butterfly garden. Your children truly teach me something new every day, and I’m grateful to be the one to share these learning experiences with them.
I received my Bachelors of Science in Environmental Resources Management from Virginia Tech. During the summers I gained experience in wildlife rehabilitation which has now proven itself useful in tending to our many unique class pets! While I’m not originally from Texas, I feel right at home thanks to the kindness I’ve experienced at de Zavala and from the community of Grand Prairie.
