Lenora Brown

Lenora Brown is the Chancellor for the Grand Prairie Early College High School. She has over 29 years of educational experience, has been with GP ECHS since 2015, and is excited to see her first cohort graduate in 2019. 

Mrs. Brown taught 7th grade reading for five years, was a middle school counselor for three years, and has spent the last thirteen years as a high school counselor.  Mrs. Brown received a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in 1996 and a Master of Education in School Counseling in 2002 from Dallas Baptist University.  Mrs. Brown completed her principal certification in 2008 and will be Licensed Professional Counselor Intern.

Originally from Oklahoma, Mrs. Brown spent most of her life in Dallas where her immediate family resides.  She has been married to her husband for over 25 years and has two daughters. Mrs. Brown enjoys crocheting, shopping and reading.    She is an active and proud member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.

Phillip Burks

Phillip Burks is a very dynamic and persistent leader and educator with more than a decade of educator experience; as a career educator and learner he’s focused on the implementation of instructional integrity and its effect on student growth and success.

Mr. Burks has served in many different capacities within GPISD from a self-contained Special Education Teacher, Inclusion Teacher, General Education Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher, Testing Coordinator, School Counselor, and now Academic Dean.   Outside of K-12 education, Mr. Burks teaches as an adjunct professor in the areas of Health Professions (Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Humanities.  He currently serves as Professor of Humanities at Northwood University. Mr. Burks believes that being an effective educator and leader is a calling.
