Electrician Pathway (11-12)
-
The TRIO Electrician Pre-Apprenticeship Program at Grand Prairie High School provides an opportunity to gain entry level employment in the high-demand, highly skilled area of electrical work. Students entering their junior year will take courses taught by a master electrician, work in a paid internship during the summer between their junior and senior year, all while earning dual credit from Dallas County Community College (DCCCD).
By graduation, students should have earned a TRIO Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Level 1 Certificate from DCCCD and will move immediately into the paid apprenticeship program at TRIO. A demonstrated dedication to this industry will provide students the opportunity to complete the apprenticeship program and earn a Journeyman Electrician license.
The Electrician pathway is offered through Programs of Choice at Grand Prairie High School.
