• Education & Leadership Preparatory Academy (9-12)

    Preparing for a career in Education, students develop professional life skills and participate in field experiences through the University of Texas at Arlington and various intern experiences through Grand Prairie ISD. Since Education careers require a college degree, GPISD Education & Leadership Preparatory Academy offers students 30 or more hours of college credit through the University of Texas at Arlington. 
    These dual-credit hours may be applied toward a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree and students will be prepared in college to take the TExES EC-6thcertification exams. Upon earning college degree and teacher certification, students will be eligible to teach in ESL and Bilingual shortage areas in the state of Texas.

    Upon high school graduation, students who continue on to UTA in the College of Education will be offered a Teacher Aide position with Grand Prairie ISD for employment during college. In addition to a high school diploma, students who have completed the Education & Leadership Preparatory Academy will receive a pending contract to become an Educator in Grand Prairie ISD upon earning college degree and teacher certification.
