American Indian Education Program

  • American Indian Education Program Our Mission

The American Indian Education Program (AIEP) of Grand Prairie Independent School District is designed to provide academic enhancement and cultural enrichment services to American Indian/Alaska Native students.

Our cultural enrichment section is set-up to coordinate student/community activities throughout the year. Our education coordinator support teachers with culturally responsive teaching and cultural sensitivity awareness.

Consultation and collaboration between citizens of American Indian nations and tribes and program personnel, provide guidance to better serve the needs of our students and families.

We are funded by a Federal Government Grant under Title VI based on the treaty rights established when the U.S. Government signed binding treaties with the various American Indian Nations.

Our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) gives counsel related to services based on community needs and cultural relevance.  The committee meets at the GPISD Delmas Morton Elementary (401 E. Grand Prairie Road, Grand Prairie, TX, 75051). We welcome and encourage all American Indian parents and community members to attend meetings and become active in our program.
