Grand Prairie ISD’s Plan for a Safe School Year 2021-2022
In Grand Prairie ISD we are eagerly anticipating another great school year! We believe that returning all students to in-person classes will be beneficial for everyone, for the following and many other reasons:
- Our schools are an important unifying force that brings our community together
- A return to in-person classes will provide the opportunity for District personnel to better deal with the learning losses that have occurred since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and it will ensure that all services for students who have special needs will be enhanced.
- The social and emotional needs of our students and staff can be better met if we are together at school.
We are doing everything possible to make sure that our students and staff return to buildings that are safe. Our plan includes maintaining our buildings in a way that promotes the health of students, staff, and visitors. This plan is based on the current recommendations from our state and local governing bodies. We will continue to monitor their guidelines and update each section to ensure that we are following the most recent protocols for keeping our students, staff, and visitors safe.
The 2021-2022 school year promises to be a great one, and we hope that you will join us.
We are better together!
