Austin Environmental Science Academy provides students with opportunities to collaborate, increase creativity, build leadership skills, use problem solving/critical thinking skills, and awaken global environmental awareness. The school’s outdoor features include a one-of-a-kind chicken coop and traditional garden beds. The indoor features include interactive wall displays, environmental science classrooms, and hydroponic growing walls. Additionally, Austin Environmental Science Academy offers a large variety of after-school clubs and organizations, state-of-the-art technology, and full-time environmental science staff members.
Our Mission
Austin Elementary will provide a positive, safe, and secure environment that will empower students to learn while building self-esteem. Students will be afforded the opportunity to experience success and mutual respect which will prepare them to be life-long learners. The community will cooperate to produce responsible individuals who are able to adapt to an ever-changing society.

Curriculum Offerings
Environmental Science is a branch of biology focused on the study of the relationships of the natural world and the relationships between organisms and their environments.
Poultry Farming studies will allow our students to learn about the life cycle of chickens, harvesting, eggs, and more.
Pets in the classroom will be used to bring learning about our environment to life. Classroom Pets Stimulate Learning!
Garden beds teach our students responsibility, creativity, nutrition, heath and fitness, discovery, and self confidence.
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without using soil. This technique instead uses a mineral nutrient solution in a water solvent, allowing the nutrient uptake process to more effect that when using soil.
AVID will be a school wide effort with special focuses on our 3rd-5th grade students that will concentrate on the following areas.
