Florence Hill Elementary is a proud, traditional neighborhood school. We provide a nurturing, well-rounded education for our students. Educators are personally invested in each student’s academic achievement as well as their social and emotional well-being.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a positive, safe and secure environment that will empower students to learn while building self-esteem. Students will be afforded the opportunity to experience success and mutual respect which will prepare them to be lifelong learners. The Florence Hill community will cooperate to produce responsible individuals who are able to adapt to an ever-changing society.

Curriculum Offerings
Advanced Academics (Gifted and Talented) classes are offered for students who meet the district criteria for participation.
CARE LS – provides intensive, individualized support in the least restrictive environment with an emphasis on functional academics.
CARE SS – offers social and behavioral support in the least restrictive environment with an emphasis on grade level academic support.
Dyslexia – students with dyslexia receive a multi-sensory teaching approach to remediate through explicit instruction aimed at improving the skills and knowledge to understand printed material

Kindness Crew
A team of students that works to promote kindness and compassion around the campus and community by doing community projects, social learning activities, and inspiring acts of kindness.
Beyond The Bell
Fee based after school program offered by GPISD.
Art Club
Led by our art teacher, meets weekly.
Chess Club
Led by our Advanced Academic teacher, meets weekly.
Green Team
Led by a team of classroom teachers, meets twice per week.
Handprints on Hearts
Handprints on Hearts (HOH) is a mentoring program. Volunteer mentors are paired with a student or a small group of students. The mentor works to build relationships with the students and to offer encouragement and guidance to help mentee students reach their full potential as students and as individuals.
PTA
We have a strong PTA. They partner with the school to provide multiple opportunities for family engagement.
All Pro Dads
Family First’s fatherhood program equipping men to be better fathers and father-figures. Launched in 1997 with the help of Coach Tony Dungy, All Pro Dad asks 3 things of fathers and/or father figures: one minute a day, one hour a month and one day a year.
