Through our unique population of young learners, Crockett Early Education School has the opportunity to focus solely on the developmental milestones of Pre-K aged students to foster their growth in academic, social and emotional excellence. We extend the advantages of our award-winning campus to students as young as 3 years of age through an all-day tuition or tuition-free option.

What makes Crockett different than other campuses that offer Pre-K in Grand Prairie ISD?
Crockett Early Education school is unique in that it is a campus dedicated to early childhood learning. Our teachers and staff strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for our young students because they understand the importance of building relationships and making our campus a happy and safe place so that students are able to reach their academic potential. Our campus has been recognized with the following awards and distinctions:

What grade levels are on your campus?
Crockett serves PreK-3 & PreK-4 aged students.

Can students that live outside of Grand Prairie attend Pre-K in GPISD?
Yes, we are an open enrollment district. Out of district students will be placed upon availability. Bus transportation is not provided to out of district students.

Is school bus transportation available?
Yes, transportation is provided for our Pre-K4 students only. Our busses pick up and drop off at most elementary campuses in Grand Prairie. Students are always accompanied by a Crockett staff member while on the bus.

Do students take naps during the day?
While Pre-K3 students do have nap-time built into their daily schedule Pre-K4 students do not.

What type of technology do students have access to at Crockett?
All students have access to their own iPad for use in the classroom and each of our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology including an interactive whiteboard, Osmos, Square Pandas, etc.

What special programs does your campus offer?
Our campus serves a variety of students to meet the needs of all children. Currently, we support our English language learners through our Dual Language (1 way for Pre-K3 and 2 way for Pre-K4) & ESL Programs. For our special education students, PPCD and blended classes in Pre-K3 & Pre-K4 are available based on the student’s Individualized Education Plan.

What type of support is provided for my child who has disabilities?
By means of programs such as Response to Intervention, 504 and special education, students may qualify to receive services from the following staff on our campus:
- Speech and Language Pathologist
- Occupational Therapist
- Physical Therapist
- Licensed Specialist in School Psychology

What types of opportunities do you have for my child to develop in Social and Emotional Learning?
In addition to our school counselor, Crockett has a Social and Emotional Counselor on campus that is dedicated to using researched based curriculum and programs to interact with students as well as train staff and families. Our teachers utilize these programs when lesson planning to integrate social and emotional learning in each content area.

When can I apply for a Pre-K program?
Applications for Pre-K4 will begin to be accepted the first week of April. You can submit your application by visiting the GPISD website or by visiting GPISD.org ➛ Departments ➛Early Education Programs
