Animal Science

The veterinary studies program at South Grand Prairie High School provides students with a strong academic foundation in veterinary studies, preparing students to sit for the Certified Veterinary Assistant Exam, offered through the Texas Veterinary Medicine Association their senior year. Students will be well prepared to enter the workforce as a CVA and/or continue their post-secondary education to work towards becoming a veterinary technician or veterinarian. Warrior Paws Grooming Salon and Clinic is an extension of the Veterinary Studies Pathway at SGPHS. Students participating in Warrior Paws are juniors and seniors in the pathway that are currently working to complete hands-on training requirements to become Certified Veterinary Assistants through TVMA.
