The Sports Medicine pathway provides students with a strong academic foundation in health science as it relates to helping people improve their athletic performance, recover from injury and prevent future injuries. Students are provided with opportunities to learn about career opportunities within the field of sports medicine while participating in advanced health science technology courses covering concepts such as basic and applied sciences, fitness assessments, rationale and components of integrated training, program design and application, special populations administration, nutrition and supplementation and behavior modification, along with internship experiences on and off the playing field. This pathway is located at South Grand Prairie High School and Grand Prairie High School.
