What are the hours of operation?
GPISD Employee Childcare Centers are open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm.
GPISD Employee Childcare Centers follow the district calendar and are not open during school breaks or holidays. The center is open 187 days for all teacher work days, including professional development days.

Who is eligible to attend?
GPISD has two employee child care centers, Rayburn ELC and Bonham ELC. The child care is available to full time GPISD employees, serves children six weeks to four years, and is based on space availability.

When I register will I be guaranteed a spot?
Once you have completed and submitted your application you will receive an email confirmation letting you know we have received your registration.
Once the registration application has been approved you will receive an email with a start date and additional enrollment details.

Can my child be placed on a waiting list if space is not available?
Yes, your child’s online application serves as a waitlist until space is available. Waitlists are processed in the order that they are received and remain active for up to one year from the date submitted.

What policies do you have in place to address safety?
- Individual badge access at entrance door.
- Cameras in every classroom.
- First-Aid and CPR certified teachers and staff members.
- Routine fire drills and secured safety plans.

Am I able to observe my child’s classroom or visit him/her during the day?
Yes, parents are always welcome in the school. All school visits and observations should be arranged with your center director.

Can I visit the center?
Our doors are always open to parents, and throughout the year parents will have the opportunity to join us for special events such as birthday/holiday celebrations and community/charity events.

How will I know what happens during my child’s day?
All our childcare centers use Brightwheel, which is an online communication tool. Teachers update the app throughout the day to keep you informed of everything your child is doing and learning, from meals to potty breaks to exceptional education, this app will give you real-time peace of mind.
In addition, our centers will communicate with families via email and by phone when necessary.

Do children get to go outside during the day?
Yes, children go outside twice daily, and sometimes more weather permitting. Our playground is equipped with safe and age-appropriate equipment for the children to enjoy with their friends.
