ESSER III and the Return to In-person Classes: How GPISD Is Getting Ready
ESSER III provides federal funds to school districts across the nation to help them safely return students to in-person classes. To receive these funds, districts must comply with federal guidelines that require that they create a plan that addresses health, safety, and instructional needs. This requirement is especially important for schools that suspended in-person classes for the entire 2020-2021 school year. As you probably recall, Grand Prairie ISD offered an in-person option starting in September last year. The fact that we offered in-person classes for most of the past school year puts us in a much better position to handle the return of our students to in-person instruction, since many of the details have already been worked out.
GPISD has now finalized its formal plan for the safe return to in-person instruction, and it is ready for your review.
