  •  Jenny Bishop, High School Director, Acting/Costuming

    Jenny Bishop

    Mrs. Jenny Bishop has been teaching for 16 years and is currently in her 8th year at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy where she teaches Acting and Costuming. Additionally, she has directed numerous award-winning plays and musicals, most recently Chicago: Teen Edition. She has won numerous honors including The Hummer Hero Award for Outstanding Theatre Teacher in North Texas and Outstanding Educator for Broadway Dallas.

    Jenny Bishop (stage name Phagan) is also a working actress. She has appeared in numerous film and television roles as well as many radio and television commercials. She is represented in Los Angeles by Abrams Artists Agency and HG5 Entertainment and in Dallas by Linda McAlister Talent. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, the Texas Motion Picture Alliance, USITT, TETA, a Lifetime Thespian Member and a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers.

  • Brooke Potts, High School Director, Directing/Musical TheatreBrooke Potts

    Mrs. Potts was homeschooled in Prosper, Texas, and graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre (emphasis in education) in 2015. Throughout all of her schooling, she participated in both professional and community theatre. Post-college, she completed the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World. She began teaching at GPFAA in 2017. Mrs. Potts married Cameron Potts in 2016 and since then they have adopted a cat named Catlyn and a dog named Finn. Cameron also has a passion for theatre and teaches at Lewisville High School. She teaches Musical Theatre, Art & Media Communication, and Directing.

  • Robert Clark, High School Director, Tech Theatre

    Robert Clark is excited for his first year with GPFAA! Robert graduated from UNT with a B.A. in Theatre Design / Technology, Minor in Spanish. He has worked professionally as a designer, carpenter, technical director, and painter for DFW Theatres including: Richardson Theatre Center, Junior Players, Shakepseare Dallas, Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Richland College, Bishop Lynch High School, Allen Community Theatre, UNT Opera, Dallas Theatre Center, Watertower Theatre, Artes de la Rosa, and of course, UNT Theatre. In his spare time, he enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons, planting, and printing 3D objects to share with his coworkers.

  • Kevin Velasquez, Middle School Director

    Kevin Velasquez joined The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy in 2015 as the middle school theatre director. Mr. Velasquez’s favorite “Be” phrase is “Be You” which he encourages in all of his students. He loves all things theatre and has been an active member of the community for the last 30 years. He currently serves on the board of directors for The Duncanville Community Theatre and the Grand Prairie Arts Council. He has directed over 60 productions with his students, such as: The Lion King Jr., The Outsiders, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, The Lord of the Flies, Charlotte’s Web, Annie Jr., The Miracle Worker, The Wizard of Oz, The Transition of Doodle Pequeno, Rebel Without a Cause and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc. Aside from the theatre, Mr. Velasquez enjoys spending time with his husband Chris and their children Kennedy, Jace, Andy, Samantha and Chino.
