Carpentry

  • Students in the Carpentry Pathway at Grand Prairie High School will gain an understanding of the study of the methods and equipment used to build structures.

Students are taught skills in engineering and construction, as well as in business and construction management. Studies in construction technology requires taking courses in the basics of engineering, site inspection, environmental issues, management of construction workers, analysis of architectural plans and interpretation of building codes. Most of the studies are performed in classrooms and laboratories, but students are introduced to the trade through internships with on-site work experience.
