  • Richard GalvanRichard Galvan, High School Director

    Richard Galvan began his career as a music educator for the Grand Prairie Independent School District in the Fall of 1993.  He presently serves as the Director of Orchestras at the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy.  Under his direction, his orchestras have received Sweepstakes awards for Superior performances at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Competition since the school’s inception in 2012.  His orchestras have also been invited to compete among the best orchestras in the nation at the National Orchestra Festivals in Pittsburg, Atlanta, Orlando, and in the Orchestra Cup National High School Championships in New York City.

    Outside of the classroom, Mr. Galvan keeps an active schedule judging orchestra competitions throughout the year.  He also enjoys his Camp Gladiator workouts, playing volleyball and tennis, singing in the Turtle Creek Chorale, and traveling world with his husband, Lorin, and teenage son, Christian.

  • Portrait of Mr. Garduno

    Marvin Garduno, Middle School Director

    Marvin Garduno, a Dallas native, attended Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelors and Masters in Music Education. His orchestra consistently achieves superior ratings at UIL contests and his students have been invited to compete at the ASTA National Orchestra Festival. In an effort to teach beyond the classroom, Mr. Garduno practices a flipped classroom approach by creating accessible content for music educators and aspiring musicianthat helps them be better prepared for their musical adventure.
