How to Join AVID

Are you ready to challenge yourself, grow as a student, and prepare for college and beyond? AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) might be the perfect fit for you!

Here’s how you can become part of our AVID family:

Step 1: Learn About AVID

AVID is for students who:

• Want to take rigorous classes
• Are motivated to succeed
• Need help building skills in organization, note-taking, time management, and more
• May be the first in their family to go to college

Talk to your counselor, AVID teacher, or current AVID students to find out what the program is all about.

Step 2: Fill Out an Application

Students interested in AVID must complete an application. The application helps us get to know you, your goals, and how AVID can support your success. All inquiries will be shared with selected campus counselors and AVID site coordinators.

Now accepting applications for the 26-27 school year.

Step 3: Interview

After submitting your application, you may be invited to a short interview. This is a chance for us to meet you, hear about your goals, and answer any questions you have.

Don’t worry — it’s informal, and we just want to hear your story!

Step 4: Acceptance & Welcome

If you’re selected for the AVID program, you’ll be notified and invited to an orientation or welcome meeting. From there, you’ll get ready to begin your AVID journey with supportive teachers, helpful strategies, and a classroom of motivated peers.
