Tax Information for Parents
An important part of students completing the FAFSA/TAFSA is parents completing their tax returns. Parents, please be sure to have your prior year's tax returns. For more information, please contact the campus College and Career Center. The financial aid application opens in December.
Texas Education Agency (TEA) FAFSA Graduation Requirements
House Bill 3 (HB 3) Implementation: FAFSA/TAFSA Application
Students enrolled in 12th grade are required to satisfy one of the following in order to satisfy the financial aid graduation requirement:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
- Submit a signed opt-out form (please visit your high school counselor for more details)
The Texas Education Agency will make a variety of resources available to support school districts and open-enrollment charter schools in implementing the new requirement.
