Early Valedictorian and Salutatorian Announcements

Beginning with the Class of 2027, Grand Prairie ISD will determine class rank and identify the valedictorian and salutatorian for ceremonial purposes using grades earned through the end of the first semester of a student's senior year.

This change allows the district to recognize these honors before graduation while ensuring alignment with district policy.

Although valedictorian and salutatorian designations will be announced towards the beginning of  spring semester for ceremonial purposes, class rank and grade point averages (GPAs) will continue to be calculated through the end of the senior year and will remain part of each student's official academic record.

After final grades are posted in June, the highest-ranking graduate will be officially named.
