Field Experiences: Student Observation & Student Teaching
GPISD is glad you are studying to become a teacher. You have chosen an incredibly rewarding field. As you move through your studies, you may be required to complete observation hours and/or student teaching.
Timeline
Placements for the 2nd Semester of the 2025-2026 school year will be accepted January 5, 2026 - March 13, 2026.
Requests for placement as a clinical/student teacher during the Fall 2026 semester will be accepted April 1, 2026 - July 25, 2026.
All other placement requests for the Fall 2026 semester will be accepted July 6, 2026 - October 2, 2026.
Requests for placement as a clinical/student teacher during the Spring 2027 semester will be accepted October 5, 2026 - December 4, 2026.
All other placement requests for the Spring 2027 semester will be accepted January 5, 2027 - March 5, 2027.
To complete the requirements in Grand Prairie ISD please do the following:

- Email the completed form to michelle.brinkman@gpisd.org
Step Three
- Complete the GPISD Background Check. https://www.gpisd.org/volunteer
- Be sure to select “Multi-Campus”.
Step Four
- Check your email for communications regarding your request.
Please Note: Once you have been notified that your request for placement has been accommodated, you will be required to scan your Driver’s License at your assigned campus each day.
