Adapted Sports / Special Olympic Enrollment

Grand Prairie ISD offers an Adapted Sports program as well as a Special Olympics Program. Please see below to find program details and direct links to complete enrollment/ registration.

Adapted Sports Program

Our Adapted Sports program includes three different events held during the day throughout the school year. Those events were formally known as the “Big Three” under Special Olympics. They include bowling, basketball skills, and track & field.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes must be identified by an appropriate agency or professional with one of the following conditions: Intellectual Disability, Autism, Auditory Impairment, Visual Impairment, Deaf-Blind, Orthopedic Impairment, and/or Emotional Disturbance. Student-athletes must be in third grade or higher to participate in the program.

Special Olympics Program

Our Special Olympics program includes five different sports all held after-school throughout the school year. Those sports include volleyball, cheerleading, powerlifting, basketball, and soccer. We currently do not offer individual skills for our after-school sports.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes must be identified by an appropriate agency or professional with one of the following conditions (Intellectual Disability, Cognitive Delay, and or Developmental Disability) Student-athletes must be in sixth grade or higher to participate in the program.
